Our best wishes for 2026!

Jan 23 2026

Dear members,

Dear friends,

At the beginning of this year, I would like to look back with you at the actions carried out by the European Federalist Party throughout 2025. It was a busy and demanding year, and an important one for the future of our shared project.

In a European context marked by strong geopolitical and economic uncertainty – as the recent Greenland crisis has reminded us – our party chose commitment, clarity, and consistency.

Wherever possible, we promoted a clearly federalist voice. We are convinced that only a more united, more democratic, and more sovereign Europe can meet today’s challenges.

Throughout 2025, the European Federalist Party strengthened its presence in public debate. I personally took part in several debates and conferences.

In March 2025, I was invited to the 10th European Congress of Local Governments in Mikołajki, Poland, and to the 6th Meetings for Culture and Creation in Paris.

In June, I took part in the Central and Eastern European Security Forum in Warsaw, and in September in the 34th Economic Forum of Karpacz in the Carpathians, focused on scenarios for the future of the European Union.

Finally, last November, the European Federalist Party was present in Brussels at a key summit the 1st ‘EU Enlargement Forum’ organized by the European Commission. Participants included Kaja Kallas, António Costa, Marta Kos (Commissioner for enlargement), Andrius Kubilius (Commissioner for defence), and the Prime Ministers of Montenegro, Moldova, and Albania.

Young people and students were not forgotten. Our movement carried out educational activities at the Institute of Business Management in Nantes (France) and at the University of Nicosia in Cyprus.

Through our positions, contributions, and public actions, we defended a Europe that can act, with truly democratic institutions and a real ability to protect its citizens and its identity. We clearly affirmed the need for a federal leap to overcome current blockages.

This strong presence shows the energy of our movement and the relevance of our cause.

The year 2025 was also marked by the strengthening of our structures, which we want to be actually transnational. We worked to reinforce our organization, train our campaigners, and develop our proposals, in order to prepare for future challenges and firmly anchor European federalism in the political landscape.

None of this would have been possible without your commitment, loyalty, and high standards. You are the strength of the European Federalist Party, and I sincerely thank you for that.

The year ahead will be decisive. More than ever, our responsibility is to turn European hope into a concrete political project. Together, with determination and clarity, we will continue to work for a federal, democratic, and united Europe.

On behalf of the European Federalist Party, I send you my best wishes for the new year.

For Europe, and for its future,

Yves Gernigon

President of the European Federalist Party
